One major exception to this used to be 360 videos and images, but now that restriction is becoming a thing of the past. Last week, VLC revealed that it is now 360 enabled for both images and videos. VLC 360 was created through a partnership between VideoLan and the hardware company Giroptic.

In 2017 Oculus sent a Rift VR headset to the International Space Station and ESA astronauts Thomas Pesquet and Alexander Gerst used it for microgravity neuroscience experiments.
