All the other major companies (Samsung, Huawei, etc…) are working on AR and Apple for sure can’t stop experimenting with if it doesn’t want to miss the next communication platform as Microsoft did with Windows Phone. Oculus is working on 2nd gen VR. We don’t know what Oculus will present, but we have some hints.

The guy, which goes under the nickname of HYPEX, is known to be a reliable leaker for Fortnite, so it is quite sure that there are now references to Oculus in the Fortnite code. These are pretty cool, also because the Snapdragon XR 2 is much more powerful than the 835 mounted by the Oculus Quest. Watching the video of the experience, with the mother being able to see her daughter again and crying, it’s so incredibly moving. On the web, there have been many debates around this video. A leaked image from the Oculus team shows that the company is working to implement body tracking inside the Oculus Unity SDK. It’s not clear on what platforms this functionality will be working on, but if I had to guess, I would say Project Cambria, since its body tracking was already revealed in a video some months ago.

Especially the DualSense is an amazing piece of tech, with very stable IMUs and haptic sensations that increase a lot the “immersion” in the games : they can provide you the sensation of resistance, of textures of materials, of movements.
