Developer Triangle Factory will be conducting an open alpha later this year. Earlier this week, Hyper Dash developer Triangle Factory revealed its next original VR game, Breachers , a tactical multiplayer FPS for Quest, PC VR, and Pico VR headsets. Based on the trailer, the game appears to take inspiration from close-quarters shooters like Rainbow Six Siege.

Meta has acquired Lofelt, a Berlin-based startup developing advanced haptic technologies for VR and other devices. According to The Wall Street Journal , the acquisition took place earlier this summer, however the deal came to light only just last week. “Lofelt is now embarking on a new adventure, and we will sunset our products on July 7th, 2022,” the company writes on its webpage.

Meta Connect is on for October 11th, 2022 as a one-day virtual event with announcements outlining the company’s next steps in VR and AR. A new site teases Meta Connect with a countdown timer and “more information and speaker details coming soon.” Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg recently teased that the company’s high-end Quest Pro standalone headset, currently known as Project Cambria, is due for release in October.

Qualcomm this morning is taking the wraps off a pair of new SoCs for the mid-range and entry-level smartphone markets. Refreshing the company’s longstanding 600 and 400 series of chips, Qualcomm is announcing the Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 and Snapdragon 4 Gen 1. Both SoCs are receiving similar spec bumps, incorporating newer and faster IP blocks from Qualcomm – such as Arm Cortex-A78 derived CPU cores – as well as moving to newer, more contemporary manufacturing processes.
