I had some wonderful ideas of Mixed Reality applications I would like to prototype, but most of them are impossible to do in this moment because of a decision that almost all VR/MR headset manufacturers have taken: preventing developers from accessing camera data. My early start with MR As you may know, I got started with passthrough mixed reality in 2019, far before Quest enabled the use of passthrough.

My mind so started thinking about all the crazy XR devices that I saw in the almost ten years that I’ve been in the XR space: some of them were totally nonsense, while others were genius; some became products, others were just research; some of them I managed to try, others I did not.

VRROOM: Lessons learnt building a VR social platform that arrived at the top place on a VR store

It’s exactly one year since we launched t he Alpha of the VRROOM platform , the social XR space dedicated to concerts and life shows. We started this project from scratch in July 2022, and in this one year and a half, we have built a lot and obtained remarkable results: we collaborated with important artists like Armani White and Jean-Michel Jarre, won some awards, and one day we even reached the top place of the Pico Store.
