Latest SteamVR Update Includes Steam Link Improvements for Quest

The latest major SteamVR update has arrived, coming with it an improvement to Steam Link for Quest. Initially released in November 2023, Steam Link is Valve’s own app on the Meta Quest Store which allows users to quickly and easily connect their Quest headset wirelessly to SteamVR to play PC VR or flatscreen PC content, essentially letting you bypass Meta’s own Air Link.

Network Rail’s XR Training Pilot Reaches 1,000 UK Students

Apple Is Reportedly About To Start Selling Vision Pro Outside The US

Apple will soon start selling Vision Pro outside the US, Bloomberg's Mark Gurman reports. Apple Vision Pro is currently only sold in the US. At launch Apple said it will come to other countries "later" in 2024, but has only so far only confirmed China and hasn't yet set a specific window or date. Gurman, who reliably reported many details of Vision Pro before it was officially revealed or even acknowledged to exist by Apple, reports today that Apple is now conducting Vision Pro training sessions

Travel Mode is the Latest Vision Pro Feature to Come to Quest 2 & 3

Meta is finally rolling out the long-awaited travel mode for Quest 2 and Quest 3, ostensibly hacking away another unique feature from Apple Vision Pro. Update (May 13th, 2024) : Meta says the new Quest 2/3 Travel Mode was specially tuned to account for the motion of an airplane, even when it comes to looking out the window. The company says in a blog post it will be updating Travel Mode in the future to work with other modes of transportation, such as trains.

Quest 2 & Quest 3 Get Experimental Travel Mode To Make Positional Tracking Work On Airplanes

Quest 2 and Quest 3 now have an "experimental" Travel Mode for use on airplanes. You can add Travel Mode to your headset's Quick settings via the toggle in the Experimental section of settings. Meta says you need to be on stable (not PTC) system software v65 to see this and should restart your headset if you still don't. Note that Quest Pro isn't supported, only Quest 2 and Quest 3.
