Regarding the glasses, I have not big hopes for true AR glasses, but I think that thanks to Facebook and Apple, finally we’ll have some important smartglasses entering the market , making the mainstream think about wearing something on their face to enjoy notifications from the phone. Phone AR will be always more popular.

In Europe, this marketing effort is just starting now, so the penetration is not that high, yet. In the USA, it is almost mainstream; in Europe, it is something for people that have some knowledge of gaming or technology; in South America, is very difficult to get a headset. BUT today is the day of the WWDC, and who knows if Apple will tease something about AR glasses. The Sonic seems a good device: 4K resolution, 101° FOV, 72Hz refresh rate, 256GB, and 6DOF controllers. I personally don’t expect a launch or a full reveal, but maybe they could at least hint something. All of this for a high price.

The documentation was the same as before, if not for the fact that in the page about headset Input page, there was also a reference to “Oculus Jedi” controllers. Even the modified one with the header file talking about controllers just leaks the constant of their name. Something like the Valve Index controllers.

The coronavirus is also impacting the production of all the major VR headsets : we’re at the point that Valve’s customer service has no more left controllers to give to people for RMA.
