They have an enormous database of eye images and are training the AI to solve this issue. Eye tracking will probably be available only in next-gen HoloLens (and is already present in Magic Leap One ), so having a solution that can upgrade the 50000 existing Hololens is interesting. This makes the tracking more difficult.
