Does Austin have the largest VR community outside of Los Angeles? I was familiar with Austin, Texas because of SXSW — having attended with my previous employer, Emblematic Group. The VR community in Austin was a bit of a late bloomer compared to other cities. Michael Dell relocated Dell’s headquarters to North Austin in 1984.

Project Anywhere runs on the Microsoft HoloLens 2 headset while leveraging Cesium 3D Tiles datasets. The news comes as Google launches Photorealistic 3D Tiles as an Experimental version for use on its Map Tiles API.

Hello everyone from Austin, Texas, where I am attending the SXSW! Microsoft has killed it (after having basically abandoned it) because it had to perform a spending review given the bad economic conditions. This project involved creating augmented reality statues of women alongside men in eight major cities in France.

I still feel a lot tired because of the jet lag and the little sleep I had in Austin, but this is pretty normal, and in one week or such this feeling should go away. While this is kind of a gimmick for now, it is interesting that Microsoft is still working on Mesh and integrating its services with VR-related features.
