Pico Neo 3 Pro, and its sibling Pico Neo 3 Pro Eye (featuring eye-tracking), are the latest enterprise headsets by Pico. The tracking is solid, reliable, and accurate. I tried to move fast my head and my hands and the tracking never failed and never drifted. The tracking of the controllers is rock solid.

All the 3 major VR runtimes (Oculus, SteamVR, Microsoft) are now compatible with OpenXR , and this means that on the runtime layer on PC, now OpenXR has been fully integrated. The typical development environment that they use is Unity, but if the customer requires Unreal because wants a better graphical quality, they can develop using UE4, too. From time to time, I like to look at the adoption graph of XR shown by John Riccitiello (the CEO of Unity) in 2017 , where you can see that the real acceleration of immersive technologies should start around 2022-2023. Not to mention the millions spent on marketing , especially in the US (Oculus was one of the sponsors of NBA, for instance).

Yes, the biggest companies were not there with a booth (Oculus will probably target the OC6, HTC the VEC, etc…), but it is the first time that I read the XR news from CES and I dont’ remain surprised. I guess nReal will experiment with eye-tracking for a new version of the headset, maybe targeted at the enterprise market.

My favorite ones have been: Sony Interactive Entertainment has revealed that the next PSVR headset will be called PSVR 2 and will feature 2K x 2K per eye, up to 120 Hz framerate, and 110° FOV. It will be the first consumer headset with eye-tracking and foveated rendering, and also the first one to feature haptics directly on the headset.
