After a string of cancellations by larger vendors amid the worldwide coronavirus outbreak (COVID-19), this year’s annual Game Developers Conference (GDC) was postponed. The alien logo ringing out across the various other stalls and rows is arguably now as identifiable as the designs sported by Microsoft for its Xbox and Sony for its PlayStation.

We are also all waiting for news on a Quest 2 Pro… I wonder if Facebook will ever launch two devices during the same conference… it looks like a suicide move, so probably one will be announced (Quest 2 Pro) and the other launched (AR glasses).

What is interesting the most are not the features, that more or less are the same as most other headsets: integrated headphones, halo+headband, IPD adjustment, etc… It seems a mix of a Samsung Odyssey and an Oculus Rift S. Or that Microsoft is working on a new reference design that fixes the issues of the first one?

Last August the Virtual Reality Developers Conference (VRDC) published its first report on the state of the VR industry based off of a survey for developers.
