So I imagine a Quest 2 where you can avoid having a Facebook account, but you can’t use the Oculus Store, or all the most important apps and games , and so you are de facto forced to use it.

The Quest 2 is expected to have 8–9M units sold in 2021 (and this is compatible with the estimated sales data we have now), while the new device should sell 18–20M units in 2022. I found the news a bit worrisome because Facebook currently owns the most used hardware, and is acquiring all the studios creating the best content for the headsets.
