Samsung Reportedly Plans Headset For Developers Next Year

Samsung reportedly plans to send out an AR/VR headset to developers next year. South Korean outlet Electronic Times reports Samsung has already built prototypes and is testing samples for production. From 2014 it partnered with Facebook on the phone-based Gear VR, effectively the first widely shipped consumer VR product.

Samsung, in partnership with Qualcomm and Google, has announced plans to develop a new extended reality product. I myself switched from Apple to Samsung in 2015 specifically for Samsung’s Gear VR headset. But when Samsung cancelled the project, I switched to the Google Pixel to stay close to Google’s VR platform.
