Pixel density is what makes us see everything crisper, and if with the 773 PPI of the Quest 2 and Pico Neo 3 Link the screen door effect was already almost invisible, I think that with 1200, it will be impossible to see pixels at all, for a very immersive virtual reality. The most interesting ones for me are related to hand tacking. Meta Quest will receive Hand Tracking 2.2, which makes the hand tracking more responsive to fast movements of hands : the system can so track the hands also when the user is playing fitness games like FitXR (or HitMotion: Reloaded).

This integration is still very rough, and so: It works only with Oculus and WMR headsets (because it requires an OpenXR-compatible runtime); It just lets you see your model , not also modify it.

The Side Blockers make it very easy to see your keyboard & mouse in work-focused use cases, but nothing takes me out of immersive VR gaming more than seeing my bright carpet constantly below me. This idea is used in mainline Quests, Pico headsets, Valve Index, HP Reverbs, Oculus Go, and the original Oculus Rift and HTC Vive.

Or better, maybe it’s not totally merit of HTC, it is mostly the fact that everyone is hoping for a good headset that can compete somehow with the Oculus Quest , even just in the prosumer segment. The Oculus Quest 2 keeps its march towards 10M users. The Oculus Quest 2 keeps selling incredibly well. This is amazing.
