nDreams, the veteran VR studio, today announced it was acquired by video gaming group Aonic for $110 million. The Farnborough, UK-based nDreams has changed a fair bit since its founding in 2006. Having taken up VR game development full-time in 2013, the studio went on to release a slew of VR titles complimenting nearly every major headset release, including games such as The Assembly (2016) , Phantom: Covert Ops (2020) , Fracked (2021), and Ghostbusters: Rise of the Ghost Lord (2023).

Recently, Atlas officially announced the acquisition of roughly $6 million in a seed funding round following two years of the firm developing its enterprise and commercial-grade genAI-powered XR content creation platform under wraps. This marks an essential point in the industry as devices are becoming cheaper and more accessible, meaning content creation will be needed to support the hardware promises.

Meta's Black Friday sale gives you $50 credit after purchasing a Quest 2 until next Tuesday. Last week Meta cut the price of Quest 2 for the rest of the year, to $250 for the 128GB model and $300 for the 256GB model. The Black Friday deal stacks with the temporary price cut, so if you use the credit the deal effectively values Quest 2 at $200. The form the $50 credit takes depends on where you buy the headset.
