Magic Leap’s first consumer AR headset has just come to market and shows some interesting thinking as its’ offered in two sizes, as well as each size coming with a “fit kit” offering a number of shaped pieces for the nose and the head padding.

Apart from the play area definition, I think that the fact that PSVR 2 supports passthrough vision and environment reconstruction (to suggest the optimal area, the headset reconstructs a rough mesh of the surroundings ) means that in the future this headset may also become a hybrid mixed reality one, thing that I found incredibly intriguing.

What is impressive at first sight is t he definition of the images: thanks to the resolution of 1080p (at maximum, I’ve read that sometimes content is rendered at 720p) and very crisp colors , the augmentations appear detailed and very vivid. The tracking is not perfect, but it is good enough to work.
