The SDK will support eye-tracked foveation and fixed foveation (like the one of Oculus Go); The Vive Focus will soon have finger tracking : for every hand, you will be able to have something similar to what Leap Motion offers. This kind of approach is what we developers need for VR.

Considering that HL 1 had a FOV around 30-35° (the exact number has never been disclosed), I think that a reasonable guess is around 70-75° , that is a massive improvement, that will make AR more usable. This new HoloLens has for sure made a huge leap forward for what concerns comfort. Resolution.

Lenses seem an evolution of the ones mounted on the Vive headsets and that are not very appreciated by us users, but we can bet that will be anyway Fresnels of Fresnel hybrids because at the moment they are still the best alternative on the market. The rightmost ones are clearly bigger.

According to Ars Technica , the frames don’t get sent as a whole, but in little horizonal slices there are continuously streamed, so that to reduce a lot the perceived latency. The external area of the frame is getting huge compression (Image by Ars Technica). All of this is fantastic.
