Kuo says there’s still a “vast” potential demand for VR headsets in China which could be filled by companies with ready access to the Chinese market, such as ByteDance subsidiary Pico Interactive and Taiwan’s HTC. N301 may pack a dozen cameras for room-scale tracking, hand-tracking, eye-tracking, and passthrough AR.

In this third and last article about my trip to Taiwan (here you are the links to my first and second one , if you missed them), I want to tell you about some other amazing XR stuff that I did there. Do you know for instance that I have tried the Vive Pro Eye ? iStaging is one of the companies that I loved the most in Taiwan.

Quest Pro has eye tracking and face tracking , so your real-time gaze and facial expression are mapped to your avatar. A total of five internal cameras are present: one for each eye, one for your upper face, and two for your lower face. If you’re an existing Quest owner you won’t have to re-buy content.

And both the journalists of Road To VR and Upload VR agree on the fact tha t it doesn’t represent an improvement for VR gaming yet. The PS5 is a big step forward for console gaming , and being paired with a next-gen controller like the DualSense, that provides realistic haptic sensations, it can give its players countless hours of fun.

A piece of unexpected news has shaken the XR communities this week: according to a report on Digitimes Taiwan, Apple has abandoned its AR/VR glasses project and all the members of the team have been re-allocated in other teams. A new job listing points out to the fact that Oculus is planning to integrate eye tracking in its next devices.
