If you own a Google Pixel, you'll soon have augmented reality versions of Iron Man, the Incredible Hulk, and Childish Gambino on your camera. During its now-annual consumer hardware launch event, Google unveiled its rebrand of ARCore showcase AR Stickers, now known as Playground, for its Pixel smartphones, with sticker packs for Marvel's Avengers and other characters, from cartoonish sports athletes to adorable pets, coming to the AR app.

While there wasn’t much news on the VR front from Google at today’s New York hardware event except from learning that the new Pixel 3 and Pixel 3XL are compatible with Daydream View VR headsets, Google did introduce a new slate augmented reality (AR) stickers that will have you taking selfies with Iron Man. Dubbed Playground, the new mode in the Pixel camera is a rebrand of its AR stickers that launched with the Pixel 2 roughly a year ago.

As promised last week, Magic Leap has finally released the long-awaited augmented reality game Dr. Grordbort's Invaders. The game, developed by Weta Workshop, is easily the most well known and hyped title among all of the Magic Leap apps (and there aren't many) currently on the Magic Leap app store. As trailers have previewed, the game essentially turns the Magic Leap One into a shooter game with a distinctly steampunk aesthetic.

2K and Gearbox Software, the studios behind the Borderlands franchise, are bringing the critically acclaimed Borderlands 2 to PSVR this December. Announced today on the PlayStation blog , PSVR users are getting a special treat before Christmas that will let you play the full game in VR. The game is slated to launch December 14th.
