Sony invests $250M in Epic Games. Sony has announced that it has made a big investment of $250M in Epic Games through one of its subsidiaries. The investment gives Sony a minority stake in Epic that now is evaluated at more than $17B. And Sony for sure wants to have a stake in the metaverse. Top news of the week.

These are pretty cool, also because the Snapdragon XR 2 is much more powerful than the 835 mounted by the Oculus Quest. Watching the video of the experience, with the mother being able to see her daughter again and crying, it’s so incredibly moving. On the web, there have been many debates around this video. I really hope so.

Today has been another interesting day: it has started with us running to try to enter the Cyberpunk 2077 booth (but with no luck) and has finished playing with an Oculus Go. NVIDIA RTX 2080 videos and photos. Playing with it is great, it is a bit like playing Unreal Tournament. So, here you are what I did today.

If the Fyre Festival taught us anything, it’s a lot easier to create a stunning marketing video than it is to actually deliver a stunning product. The virtual format meant we basically had to settle for a series of marketing videos, rather than the opportunity to fully evaluate every product hands-on.

While Oculus is getting all the glory for the Quest, its competitors are not sleeping. With a lot of sadness, I’m here watching the photos and the videos of WCVRI , the big Chinese conference about VR that is held every year in Nanchang. Notwithstanding all this hate, the Oculus Quest 2 is selling very well.
