Japan-based studios Gumi Inc. and Yomuneco today announced that the melee-focused VR game Swords of Gargantua is heading into closed beta soon for Vive and Rift. The closed beta starts on February 15th and goes until the 22nd. The studios say space is “very limited,” although the’re giving users a chance to win a closed beta key by leaving a comment on the #beta-apply page of the Swords of Gargantua Discord channel (invite link).

Phaser Lock Interactive , the studio behind VR titles Final Approach (2016) and Twisted Arrow (2017), are bringing their WWII-themed real-time strategy game Final Assault to Early Access next week. After a slight delay, Final Assault is now set to release in Early Access on Steam (Vive, Rift, Windows VR) and the Oculus Store (Rift) starting February 19th; it was previously slated for it’s EA debut on February 12th.

Bigscreen Inc. today launched what the studio calls a “massive” update to Bigscreen Beta , including real-time raytracing lighting effects, new environments, avatars, VR UI, and a few other bits and bobs that should also make mobile VR users happy too. Bigscreen Beta is a free social VR platform that lets you directly mirror and share your desktop to other user, which includes support for HTC Vive, Oculus Rift, all SteamVR-compatible headsets.
