Oculus teases new games and several long-awaited updates during its first-ever VR gaming showcase. Oculus held its first-ever VR gaming showcase earlier today, revealing new games and several major updates coming to Oculus Quest and Oculus Rift headsets this year. Despite the relatively short 25-minute runtime, there was no shortage of exciting announcements made during today’s showcase, from a new 1080 -inspired VR snowboarding game to fresh details regarding Resident Evil 4 VR on Quest.

Skydance Interactive’s critically-acclaimed action-horror game, The Walking Dead: Saints & Sinners (2020) , is getting a free update on May 20th. Called ‘Aftershocks’, the DLC drop will launch first on Oculus Quest. We’re sure to learn more in the days leading up to the launch of ‘Aftershocks’, but for now the studio has tossed out a trailer which shows some fresh action centering around a mysteriously supply cache from the Louisiana National Guard.

The free update will be available in two parts beginning with six new levels. The Climb 2 officially launched on the Oculus Quest and Quest 2 last month, offering new locales, more difficult climbs, and other stellar improvements. During today’s first-ever Oculus Gaming Showcase, it was announced that Crytek’s new and improved VR climbing experience is receiving a brand new expansion pack designed to keep even the most skilled climbers on their toes.

Facebook offers a closer look at the legendary action/horror game redesigned for Oculus Quest headsets. When Resident Evil debuted on the original PlayStation console it changed the way we looked at video games. Now, 25 years later, one of the most popular chapters of the series is heading to VR. Now one of the game’s original creators, Giles Goddard, is bringing a new, first-person VR snowboarding game, Carve Snowboarding to Oculus. Revealed today during the Oculus Gaming Showcase, Carve Snowboarding is aiming to bring first-person snowboarding to VR.
