I wonder if Facebook has already taken the decision of leaving the enterprise market to HTC and Pico , while focusing on the much bigger piece of cake of the consumer market.

The VR route is instead being pursued by HTC (with its VEC event happening soon) and IEEE. This means that if you are in Google Earth VR in a green room where there is a friend of yours, you can see the city that you are visiting all around you, and the real image of your friend being there with you.
