Oculus Wants to “Go big” On Opening Their Platform to Third-party Headsets, When the Time is Right

Road to VR

Oculus has been on the receiving end of vocal criticism about its practices of funding the development of VR content with the requirement that it be exclusive to the Oculus platform. For many owners of the Rift’s rival, Vive, the biggest point of contention is that Oculus’ PC platform is only compatible with the Rift, which means the exclusive games the company funds can’t be played by the Vive without an unofficial workaround.

The Future of eLearning in 2022: A Sensitive Eye for Authentic Translation and Localization

Speaker: Chris Paxton McMillin, President of D3 Training Solutions

To avoid awkward and sometimes disastrous learning content, instructional designers must use authentic translation in the right context to get optimal results. For example, even a simple phrase like “got milk” translates to “are you lactating” in Mexico. Can you imagine what a straight translation might do to your course? With over 317 million people in the US and over 6.7 billion potential customers in the world, personalizing training seems logical.

Field in View: ARKit Shows That AR Is For Production, VR Is For Leisure (With Some Exceptions)

UploadVR Between Realities podcast

AR and VR are not warring factions. In fact, it’s more likely than not that they’ll one day be one and the same; a true mixed reality headset that augments our real world but can also take us to completely new ones is the distant but logical last step for both Oculus with the Rift and Microsoft with the HoloLens. VR Bites

I have been looking for a descent RPG/Dungeon Crawler in VR for a while now and Prevent The Fall is exactly that! The game recently released on Steam and although it is still a little rough around some edges and needs an update to the control scheme, it is still great fun to play! I have to also give thanks to the developers for listening to the VR community and adding locomotion options to suit everyone’s individual preferences.
