Instead of firing webs, however, this device captures your hand movements and then transfers that data to a tethered Raspberry Pi-powered device connected to a computer. Boz has explained that the conference won’t be only about Oculus (whatever this name means now), but it will also be about SparkAR, Portal, and all the other innovative projects by Facebook.

Unfortunately I didn’t get the chance to come back and see what he was showing with my own eyes before the conference ended, but after the show we did have a chance to dig into what GameFace is working on: the GF-LD headset.

At Microsoft’s Build conference today, the company is announcing a new OEM VR partner with HP as well as inside-out, six degree-of-freedom input controllers for VR headsets made by Microsoft partners like Acer. But if that was the case, then why not create something on par with the Vive and charge enterprise prices?
