Microsoft has picked volumetric video company Arcturus as its primary marketing partner for its Microsoft Mixed Reality Capture Studios (MRCS) solution provider. Arcturus’ solution includes over 100 cameras working simultaneously to capture a still or moving object.

It’s nice to see how Facebook is updating the Quest software constantly. And I’m not only talking about the hardware, but also the software. Microsoft signs a $22B deal with the US Army. It seems that this test has been a success, and so now Microsoft has won now a bigger contract to carry on the project: $21.88B (!!)

Some of the features that Apple is touting include better motion capture, improvements to camera access, and additional locations for Location Anchors. For example, Maybelline, L’Oréal and other companies have the option for users to virtually try on cosmetic products using their front-facing camera and web AR software.
