The Art Director at Oculus Story Studio who’s blown our minds in the past with his virtual sculpting in Medium and dream world teasers using Oculus’ Quill app, is now showing off an unreleased update to Quill that let’s you animate illustrations.

Hallelujah is a new experience by VR film studio Within that’s captured using Lytro’s latest Immerge light-field camera which captures volumetric footage that makes for a much more immersive experience than traditional 360 video. Hallelujah is a performance of Leonard Cohen’s 1984 song of the same name, and mixes the latest in VR film capture technology with superb spatial audio to form a stunning experience.

HTC is releasing tutorials and project files for studio-created Vive Tracker projects as a new resource for VR developers. The company is hoping that this will enable more developers to make their own controllers and hardware while developing for the Vive VR headset. This is the latest bid to provide innovative and immersive gameplay in a VR context, alongside efforts such as the Oculus release of a guitar-controlled Rock Band VR experience.

It was the single biggest gainer of the OpenSim-specific communities we follow. However, more people could be visiting the community without becoming official members. OpenSim Virtual remains the largest OpenSim-specific community, with 1,960 members, and was the second-fastest growing, with 124 new members.
