This night I woke up at 3am to participate in HTC Vive’s event on ENGAGE because I read that it was an “HTC VIVE LAUNCH EVENT” and I was super-confident in the launch of the Cosmos XR or at least of the Cosmos Play. Some of these key players, like ENGAGE, are companies in which HTC already invests into.

But this device got also some criticism: first of all , HTC has not released new controllers and still sells it with the old Wands.

The screen door effect is still present , even if it is much less than the one of the original Rift CV 1. If comfort presents some drawbacks, the tracking of the headset is damn amazing. Comparison of the speakers solutions in the Oculus Quest (left) and HTC Vive Focus Plus (right). This feels not comfortable.

The problem of battery duration is present in all the standalone headsets around here, and if you want to use them for many hours, you had better buy some power banks. Vive Focus 3 has an expensive cooling system that can keep the Snapdragon XR2 cold enough to perform its operations at the best temperatures (Image by HTC Vive).

Someone invokes saviors like Google and Amazon, but even if they managed to succeed, they are other data-harvesting companies , so in any case, we are f**ked. According to an evidence presented by Epic Games, Apple has not only removed Fortnite from the Apple Store, but it has also revoked the status of developer to Epic Games.

This week has been pretty crazy: It all started with Facebook approving my silly The Unity Cube application (an application with just a cube) on App Lab. Image by HTC Vive). HTC is teasing a new headset. HTC is teasing a new piece of hardware again, and this time most probably it will be a VR headset. Not much, honestly.
