Facebook has started today enforcing the “Facebook login” rule , asking Oculus users to merge their Facebook and Oculus accounts. VR people think that this may mean that Facebook may have to remove its mandatory Facebook login, also because other countries (like Germany) are raising similar concerns.

The shape of the controllers is slightly different than the one of the Oculus Touch, though, and there is a ring that surrounds the wrist of the user. There is also “finger-tracking” a la Valve Index , but just for the thumb, index, and middle finger (so, it is more a la Oculus Touch). Nreal Light is on sale in Germany.

HTC advertises it as a headset for relaxation and productivity because it wants to position it as a different product than a gaming machine like Oculus Quest 2. This is an enormous endorsement for virtual reality, and the previous use of 17,000 Oculus Gos by Walmart pales in comparison.

Luckily there is AR that is still strong, and we can hope to wear Google AR glasses soon… ah no, they are dead too. Now the full stack of the platform has been made opensource, and it will be easy for tech-savvy people to install it on whatever machine they want. Ah no, not even that because also Twitter is dead.

Image by Google). Google completely opensources Cardboard. With a surprise move, Google has announced with a blog post that it ha opensourced completely Cardboard. Google affirms that Cardboard has been a huge success to introduce people into VR, and more than 15 million headsets have been distributed.
