Just in time for the holiday season, cinematic VR pioneer, Jaunt, has launched its custom Jaunt VR App for PlayStation VR, adding it to their existing integrations in iOS, Android, Gear VR, Google Daydream, Oculus Rift, HTC Vive, and major desktop browsers.

Rumors hint to Oculus discontinuing the current Quest and selling the new one at $299 and $399. Facebook is temporarily suspending the sale of Oculus Quest devices in Germany.

Today, Jaunt has applications on just about every consumer VR platform including the Oculus Rift, HTC Vive, Samsung Gear VR and Google Daydream. The only notable exception to Jaunt’s availability on the various hardware platforms was Sony’s PlayStation VR headset. As of today, however, that exception no longer applies.

That’s a bit disappointing and considering that in some months Oculus will release the Quest , that has full 6 DOF support, HTC had necessarily to do something. The film recreates the seven miracles performed by Jesus Christ in virtual reality with unique 6DoF scenes of where the audience can walk into the movie scene with the actors.

Right now we’re stuck thinking in terms of head-mounted displays (HMDs), like the Vive or the Oculus. AR mode will be everywhere else: calling a heads up display of Google Maps on the street, stopping to catch a Pokemon in a field, or scanning the person in the coffee meeting across from you to cross-reference their LinkedIn profile.
