HTC revealed the devices exciting tracking capabilities during their time at last weeks 2018 World Conference on VR Industry in Nanchang, China. Developer tools for this new functionality will be open to registered Viveport developers soon. Those looking to get involved early can register for a developer kit here.

Back in April HTC launched new tools to help developers take advantage of the Vive Pro’s largely unused front-facing cameras. Vive China President Alvin Wang Graylin on stage today at WCVRI 2018 in Nanchang, the capital of China’s Jiangxi province. HTC also indicates that the capability can track individual finger movements too.

Supporting all major VR platforms, the app will launch as an experimental experience in early 2018. Simple interactivity with the orbs is possible with motion control; the experience will support all major VR hardware, but is likely to feel most engaging when used with the Leap Motion hand tracking system.

Some weeks ago, the CFO and the executive John Gaeta have left the company, and now we learn that i n 2018 two high profile members like Sundar Pichai and Paul Jacobs have left its board as well.
