Microsoft product lineup surprised everyone today, but the biggest surprise was planned for VR fans. Not only are these devices cheaper than the Oculus Rift and Vive, but Microsoft says they’re better too. Following that, presentation continued with several features using Microsoft HoloLens. In just a few days time, Microsoft will host WinHEC , its annual hardware / platform conference. Intel has 600 people here working on hardware form factors, while the similar story is with Microsoft and a few other known global players. Microsoft is not playing such tricks. 4 GB of RAM. A graphics card with DirectX 12 support.

Made from high-res satellite imagery, aerial photography, and Street View data, Google Earth VR is surprisingly meditative when alone and fun when with a group. Founded at Carnegie Mellon in 2015, the company created an app (now unavailable) called Intraface – which could recognize seven different emotions (anger, fear, joy, etc.).

While talking on WeChat on the XR Story group, an XR professional in China, Alex of Simfinity, has clarified that the situation in China is not easy, but until now it has not been much worse than what usually happens during Chinese New Year vacations when factories close for 2–4 weeks. Sony closes its game studio in Manchester.

Streaming services Netflix and Hulu have been in the VR space for a while (Netflix announced their app for Gear VR all the way back in the fall of 2015), and Sony-owned Crackle is attempting to catch up. The two designs will be licensed to a select group of commercial partners… and the x24 claims to shoot 8K with 6 degrees of freedom.
