Unreal Engine 5 may change the rules of game development. Out of nowhere, Epic Games has teased the next version of Unreal Engine, Unreal Engine 5, due to be released in 2021. It means that you can take whatever model, even with billions of polygons, and put it in your Unreal Engine project. Other relevant news.

This is also used to substitute workshops and speeches usually employing Youtube Videos or Youtube Live Streams ; VR events , made in virtual reality in platforms like ENGAGE, Somnium Space, Mozilla Hubs, VIRBela, etc…. Unity’s HDRP is now VR-compatible. Very good news for all us Unity VR developers. Who knows….

It was 3D-printed right here, in the high-tech workshop where I’m standing. In the industry, this type of game is still considered blue-sky thinking—experiences tend to be segmented into AR or VR—but students vying for Full Sail’s Simulation and Visualization bachelor degree, launched in 2016, are encouraged to think big.

This weekend I’ve also organized together with SIDI a big VR workshop on new technologies (XR, AI, neural links, etc…). StageCraft is a big LED screen, powered by Unreal Engine, that is used to replace the traditional green screens when shooting movies. Before today, I didn’t know that Alien Kiss VR simulator was a thing….
