As the conflict between Russia and Ukraine unfolds, much of the world continues to watch via social media. In response, Russia has waged its own forces against major social media platforms and services in an attempt to control the narrative coming out of Ukraine. As such, Russia has tried to control them, with little success.

It's possible that there is a translation issue at play: Durov speaks both Russian and English, so perhaps he used a Google translate-like tool to help compose the post. Durov is the founder of what is still the dominant social network in Russia, VK.
