From my point of view, Taiwan and Mainland China are very similar and for sure stem from the same cultural background. Huawei VR glasses are now available in China. Huawei has finally released its 3DOF glasses in China for 2999 Yuan (around $430). Talking about smell in Virtual Reality, the names of the companies working in the field were mostly two: VAQSO and FeelReal. OVR Technology is working to bring smell in VR.

It has bought the hand-tracking company Leap Motion various months ago for $30M since the two hardware are a perfect fit the one for the other. No one of them seems disruptive, but they are worth a mention anyway: ThirdEye has announced its augmented reality glasses : 720p per eye, 42° FOV and final price of $1950.

This hand tracking is very rough, so do not expect a Leap Motion -type interface, but it can be good for some VR applications. Mister President while talking about how China is doing very well in VR. The Dexmo force-feedback glove is an exoskeleton that you wear to have true fingers presence in any virtual environment. It can be used both with a standard screen or an AR/VR headset, but I think that virtual reality is where this device really shines.

In an interview with a Chinese magazine, HTC China (Mister) President Alvin Graylin has stated that in his opinion, Facebook may lose at least $100-$200 for each sold Oculus Quest 2 device. Research is being done to evaluate the use of virtual reality also to treat chronic pain. Three VR games have implemented NVIDIA DLSS.

In China, Rokid has made a smart glass with thermal sensors included , so police forces can immediately detect people having a flu.
