A new FCC listing appears for an HTC Vive headset. And in fact, a new request to FCC for a new device has arrived from HTC. FCC certifications are requested before releasing an electronic device in the US (to certify that it is safe to be used), so this is a clear sign that HTC is going to release a new headset soon.

If we pair it to the fact that this device is connected to a PS5, which is a quite powerful machine, we see that the whole system is truly the next-generation VR that PlayStation users (and not only them) were waiting for. Magic Leap 2 has inside-out tracked controllers. Apple headset is rumored to be announced this year.

BUT today is the day of the WWDC, and who knows if Apple will tease something about AR glasses. In the end, it has not been Apple or Facebook, but Snap to make its first move in the AR glasses space. In an interview with a Chinese magazine, HTC China (Mister) President Alvin Graylin has stated that in his opinion, Facebook may lose at least $100-$200 for each sold Oculus Quest 2 device. At Tilt Five, we designed a really clever system that only works on tabletop experiences but it has features that are just leaps and bounds above what the big Magic Leap or HoloLens type AR systems are. This is confirmed by companies such as Magic Leap who have raised a further 2 billion recently for the development of their second mixed reality device, although the first one hardly made much of an impact in the market regardless of how much money was initially invested.
