Airplanes seem like an ideal place to dive into VR, as you can switch out the cramped environment of the cabin for a giant movie theater, or whittle away the hours browsing the web on a massive screen — something that shouldn’t bother your seat mates too much. Meta is apparently working to fix that. It’s likely.

Meta is finally rolling out the long-awaited travel mode for Quest 2 and Quest 3, ostensibly hacking away another unique feature from Apple Vision Pro. The company says in a blog post it will be updating Travel Mode in the future to work with other modes of transportation, such as trains.

Lufthansa and Meta announced they will provide a Quest 3 headset to business class passengers on some flights starting in summer. UploadVR David Heaney The announcement comes alongside Meta shipping the currently-experimental Travel Mode for Quest 2 and Quest 3, which makes their positional tracking work on airplanes.

Quest 2 and Quest 3 now have an "experimental" Travel Mode for use on airplanes. You can add Travel Mode to your headset's Quick settings via the toggle in the Experimental section of settings. Note that Quest Pro isn't supported, only Quest 2 and Quest 3.

The Quest v63 update adds a lying down mode - but only on Quest 2 and Quest Pro, not Quest 3. A new experimental setting called 'Use apps while lying down' has been added to Quest 2 and Quest Pro.

Speaking of movies, you can even edit a Hollywood film thanks to Vision Pro’s impressive number of traditional apps , making the headset more of a face-computer than a gaming console like Quest.
