HTC Vive announced it’s offering a new hardware bundle for its Vive XR Elite headset that brings some handy new accessories to users for free, which are designed to enhance the headset’s ergonomics and increase user comfort. Called the Vive XR Elite Deluxe Pack, the bundle includes four new accessories, which are also being offered for free to new and existing owners of the headset.

Skatrix Pro , the Vision Pro skateboarding app from legendary skater Rodney Mullen, has just been overhauled to deliver even more convincing mixed reality gameplay thanks to its new 2.0 update. Released as a day-one app for Vision Pro earlier this year, Skatix Pro now boasts full-room mixed reality gameplay in addition to a skatepark builder, improved hand input gestures, and nuanced environment sensing.

Recently, HaptX partnered with immersive learning solutions provider RoundTable Learning to deploy VR training to railway workers. The partners are working with BNSF to provide railway engineers with an immersive step-by-step training platform to improve engineer safety. BNSF will regularly leverage VR as part of its 2024 safety and technical training initiative.

Wevr, the veteran XR studio behind one of VR’s earliest and most recognizable VR demo, announced it’s now secured $3.5 million in new funding from HTC Corp. and Epic Games. It’s been almost a decade since VR enthusiasts first got a chance to don the pre-production version of HTC Vive at GDC 2015, where they likely went face-to-face with a giant blue whale in Wevr’s iconic VR demo theBlu: Whale Encounter.

Meta announced the official event dates for its Connect 2024 technology showcase this week. Taking place September 25 – 26, 2024, Connect will showcase a lineup of Meta’s latest digital solutions from its social media and XR umbrella. Meta has not yet revealed details on the event, other than the event will feature a number of expected sessions, featured technology, and speakers such as CEO Mark Zuckerberg.

During Computex 2024, ASRock held an event to unveil some of its upcoming X870E motherboards, designed for AMD's Zen 5-based Ryzen 9000 series processors. ASRock's announcement includes a pair of Taichi-branded boards, the X870E Taichi and the lighter X870E Taichi lite, which uses AMD's Promontory 21 chipset for AM5. The current flagship model announced from ASRock's X870E line-up for Ryzen 9000 is the ASRock X870E Taichi.
