Way in October, Magic Leap , the still-in-stealth-mode company developing an augmented-reality headset, announced that it has raised $502 million in Series D equity funding , led by Singapore investment firm Temasek Holdings. It is obvious that the company still does not allow anyone to speak of the hardware they have on-hand.

HTC has finally revealed the price of the Vive Pro : it will cost $799 just to have the headset (no controller and no base stations, so you must already have a Vive 1 kit) and will be available for pre-orders since April, 5th. But, as Road To VR has stated, maybe HTC should have clarified that in all its marketing material.

HP and Microsoft have a long track in offering enterprise hardware, so this headset may battle HTC on his own land (B2B). Rony Abovitz steps down from Magic Leap CEO. This was a very good thing and attracted many people to Magic Leap. I hope that Magic Leap will benefit from it and will recover pretty soon.

SuperHot has now more than 2M downloads on all platforms, and this is thanks to the Quest. Magic Leap raises other $350M. I honestly don’t even know how to report this piece of news: Magic Leap has raised other money, to be exact $350M, and it seems that a healthcare company is involved. It’s all very cool.

Thanks to the support of the community member Inscothen, I have discovered that the Korean website of HTC may have leaked the info about the upcoming headset that the company should unveil at this CES. I ended up at Valve Software running their hardware department, putting the team together that created the HTC Vive. As hardware and software mature, awareness is driven by wonderful things like Pokemon Go. Instead of having to install applications to do this, it’ll be part of the OS and part of the hardware itself.
