Those glasses didn't appear to have any kind of tracking cameras though, and the “simulated point of view” showed a head-locked overlay. Apple reportedly postponed its full AR glasses “indefinitely” earlier this year, but Meta reportedly plans to ship full AR glasses in 2027 and seed an early prototype to developers as soon as next year.

More info Apple Vision Pro may have a very slow start The same Ming-Chi Kuo, who probably woke up with a lot of pessimism that day, has also expressed doubts about the widespread success of the Apple Vision Pro. And a Vision Pro 2 wouldn’t be shipped until 2027. I’m honestly finding this report a bit too pessimistic.

An early version reportedly "closely resembled" North's product Focals, and the glasses Google publicly showed in 2022 for live translation were apparently a more recent version.

If this is true, it is a true bummer, because the next-gen AR glasses, codenamed Artemis, are only going to be built in 2027. This is a very useful resource for all of us XR developers that are going very soon going to experiment with Mixed Reality applications on a headset by Meta, Apple, or one of their competitors.
