Augmented Reality is being a great tool for e-commerce: AR tools have increased the user’s likelihood of purchase by 11 times; Build.com found that the return rate after selecting items in AR has decreased by 22%. We now know how much Sony has paid for Insomniac Games. After years of await, finally, Sony has released it.

Streaming services Netflix and Hulu have been in the VR space for a while (Netflix announced their app for Gear VR all the way back in the fall of 2015), and Sony-owned Crackle is attempting to catch up. In a possible direct move against their upstart competitor, Facebook has announced their Camera Effects suite with two major tools.

This week we had two bad news related to the Covid-19: Valve has reassured that the Index will get back in stock before the launch of Alyx, but due to the virus, the amount of devices available will be much less than they hoped for; Sony and Facebook have pulled out from GDC. At this point, I wonder if GDC may be canceled as the MWC.

MeKiwi is a very interesting indie studio in Finland : they have published a very popular VR game like Cave Digger, and they have also experimented with something artistic with ArtPulse. All the tools had to be rethought for the Desktop PC version (Image by MeKiwi). We are using Unity3D with VRTK , which made things easier.
