As demand for metaverse environments continues to grow, the presence of Meta in the construction space is sure to evolve. There are even tools available with built-in hand and eye tracking.

Like HTC VIVE, Magic Leap also supports a vast developer community, with access to various tools capable of integrating with Unity technology for spatial sound. There’s a “Soundfield Audio” solution for Unity users which allows for the creation of powerful AR experiences within the Magic Leap headset, equipped with spatial sound technology.

Although, an emerging presence in the development space is hand and eye tracking. AR/VR/MR headsets are increasingly equipped with hand and eye tracking technology. Previously, commercial XR devices like the Meta Quest had experimented with hand-tracking features which improved as the device matured.

These take full advantage of the device’s unique capabilities, leveraging features like spatial tracking and hand/eye tracking. My favorite options so far are the Zoom app for the Vision Pro , with integrated spatial video, and 3D object sharing, and the Microsoft Teams app.

The third major change came from Unity which recently announced that it will now be serving AR ads on mobile. Unity has one of the world’s largest mobile ad serving businesses and at the end of last year they partnered with Fossil to pilot this new ad format in mobile games. Virtual humans are getting more and more real.
