It is not the first time Meta partnered with an external company for a new device and in most cases this choice paid off: both the Gear VR (Samsung) and the Oculus Go (Xiaomi) were pretty good products. But will it be enough now to beat Apple? Only around 1,000 units are expected to be manufactured.

Live Monitoring of Premises Google has already experimented with VR goggles (known as Google Daydream) that helped people find their way and get new routes. The reports and documents will be clearer and the touch-induced changes can take place over the virtual screens. You sure can. It would be epic.

Someone compared this news to the acquisition of Oculus by Facebook , and I agree: Pico is a very smart startup, like Oculus was, and Bytedance is a very rich company that controls one of the most popular social networks, like Facebook. As it has happened with Oculus, this news is good and bad for Pico and VR in general.

Sony unveils a new virtual concert experience at CES. The experience will debut this winter on PSVR and Oculus. The glasses tether to a PC or select Motorola smartphones via USB-C cable to enable smart workers to view documents, collaborate, and visualize schematics. They were also showing off their new HUD tech for vehicles.

These are huge numbers for VR: if you look at the most recent SteamVR survey, you get that Oculus headsets are now at 67% of the whole PCVR market. This is amazing for us developers, but unluckily it is a feature tied to using the Oculus SDK, which is not cross-platform. Sony acquires Bungie and thinks about Capcom. Some XR fun.
