One of the biggest drawbacks of HTC Vive headsets with regard to Oculus Rift are the controllers: while Oculus Touch is ergonomic and can emulate the hands quite well, Vive has controllers that are quite big and are usable only as wands. VRTK vs INTERACTION BUILDER: Which one is for you?

VRTK, as other existing VR interaction toolkits, is built around logic input from controllers. Developers will have to build or find an extra module to make the bridge between the analogic hand tracking, and the logic controller input. The system is technically compatible with hand tracking, but it is not natively supported.

It seems that Mark is still working on that vision, so that in the end, Facebook will be able to do on its devices whatever it wants, without compromises and without control. A company of this kind, with full control and no restrictions, could do great things on the tech side, but very bad things on the privacy side.
