That horrible mess of wires, dated PS Move controllers and dwindling support saw me retire it after Moss: Book 2. Software sells hardware, and it's hard to have faith in a platform with no clear roadmap. But, much like anything else, my interest slowly moved on. There are currently no confirmed upcoming first-party PSVR 2 titles.

Ilium VR are working on a new VR-centric gun peripheral which plans to use Valve’s SteamVR ‘Lighthouse’ tracking to bring realistic weapon control to virtual reality games. I can’t judge this game for sure because I tried it in the worst conditions possible , but I can tell you that I appreciated the mechanic that you could press a key on your Oculus Touch controllers to make your virtual hand move forward so that you could reach more easily objects that were a bit distant from you.

The company is performing various layoffs and also merging part of the Pico software divisions together with their Bytedance counterparts. The puck of the Nimo runs on top of a Qualcomm Snapdragon XR 2 (Gen 1) and it is used both as a computation unit and as a controller. It looks like a cool gadget. Meta is investigating the topic.

Even in a room with good lighting & plenty of high-contrast features, there’s a tiny jitter on both the headset and controllers, and the position of both sometimes slightly shifts as if to correct accumulated drift. The system software inside VR is very similar to Quest. Expect the system software to change over time though.

Its controllers have no ring and no onboard cameras. That’s why Quest Touch Pro controllers are better. I expect the tracking of Quest Plus to improve over time thanks to software updates, though. Quest 3 will be compatible with Touch Pro controllers for the ones that need better accuracy.
