Motion tracking is either done by the smartphone’s sensors or built-in headset sensors; thus, there are no cables hindering free movement. The great thing is, one can start for as cheap as fifteen bucks with the simplest headset from Google (Cardboard). Google Daydream View. Google Cardboard. Google Daydream.

The World Map in this world therefore isn’t a 2D street map like we have with Google Maps or Open Street Map, nor is it a 3D map with terrain and building volumes. Both Azure Spatial Anchors and Google Cloud Anchors are leveraging existing strengths in mapping towards the AR Cloud. Insane, yet companies are mapping it already.

But having seen Google taking a similar route, releasing a faceplate to add 6DOF controller tracking for Mirage Solo , I think that both companies realized that the hardware solution was a better solution at the moment. This is just a personal speculation of mine and there is not an official statement of HTC about it. Vive content.

Thanks to all this online material, we now know this info about it: It seems a lot Rec Room for now; It is deeply built on the Facebook framework , but you can still use your Oculus username and friends; The graphics are cartoonish and pretty simple; Everyone in Horizon can build worlds easily by using some internal creation tools in VR.
