Facebook Connect is coming September, 16th Oculus de facto rebranded as Facebook Reality Labs. Oculus is de facto no more. This week, Facebook has finally announced the date of the Oculus Connect 7, which is September, 16th. But it won’t be called Oculus Connect 7, but Facebook Connect. Top news of the week.

Apple has killed its AR glasses project… maybe. A piece of unexpected news has shaken the XR communities this week: according to a report on Digitimes Taiwan, Apple has abandoned its AR/VR glasses project and all the members of the team have been re-allocated in other teams. AR is still alive, Apple will still release its AR glasses.

Some weeks ago, a group of 12 indie development studios decided to launch the first bundle dedicated to App Lab experiences for Oculus Quest. The user could buy the bundle and get access to sideloadable versions of the games, with the promise of a free key for when the game would have been approved by Oculus on App Lab.

This doesn’t look like Oculus Quest” and in the text puts a link to an Imgur album with 4 photos featuring various half-assembled VR headsets. If this will happen, this device will be able to compete with the headsets by Oculus even on the price front and this would be great for competition of the VR ecosystem.
