Unity announced that it has hired Dr. Danny Lange as VP of AI and Machine Learning. He joins from Uber, where he was head of machine learning. At Uber, Lange led the efforts to build the world’s most versatile Machine Learning platform to support Uber’s hyper growth. Source: Unity Press Release.

All the 3 major VR runtimes (Oculus, SteamVR, Microsoft) are now compatible with OpenXR , and this means that on the runtime layer on PC, now OpenXR has been fully integrated. This means that if you develop an experience using OpenXR, you can run it on Oculus, SteamVR, and Microsoft runtimes with no modification.

Johnson has worked at Microsoft and Qualcomm before, and she is a very respected executive. Amazon is opening its AR Beauty Salon.

For me this is not a fortunate sentence: this is what Alex Kipman said about the HoloLens, a few weeks before the whole Microsoft Mixed Reality division was disbanded and he was fired from the company. One of these people was Andrew Bosworth, which has rebuked the report , saying “not to believe everything you read”.

I am a bit sad no one gave an award to The Unity Cube , though… I would have loved to get a “Worst Application Award 2021” from Road To VR…. The result is that many big brands are canceling their presence at CES: Google, Intel, Microsoft, Meta, Lenovo, and many others, have decided not to go , and maybe provide their news virtually.

Microsoft Hololens is a key player in the MR market. It has the ability to create a cross platform code where users can create their projects in either JavaScript, Unity, Xamarin, and Cordova. It is used to create engaging 3D experiences and provides easy access to machine learning, chatbots, code execution etc.

Because now suddenly you can interact with the objects, you can cognitively so much easier to learn when you can do it immersively with a VR headset.
