2020 has been a good year for the sales of VR devices : Half-Life Alyx and the launch of the Quest 2 have created a big spike in the sales of VR hardware and software. I expect all these trends to continue in 2021, for a year that will see the growth of the technology on all its sides (software and hardware).

Kudos to Shachar Weis for discovering this: he told me about this news, and I have verified that it has disappeared completely from Amazon Italy and Amazon France, while some Redditors confirmed that the same holds for Amazon UK. I think that we’ll have more info at OC7, with maybe a launch in 2021/2022. Unity is offering 3 months of Free Learning so that you can sharp your development skills. I guess it will be the final price and the available titles that will define what hardware will win the race. Oculus has made its GDC announcements. from 2019.
