Former PlayStation VP, Google, And Activision Staffers Join CastAR CastAR’s consumer release might seem a ways off, but the company today announced yet more key hires that will help it get there. He also helped launch the PlayStation Move motion controller back in 2010, which is now a key part of the PlayStation VR headset.

This Thursday, October 13th, Sony is launching the PlayStation VR worldwide. Since the original PlayStation 1 launched in America in 1995, and including the handhelds like Vita, as well as the launch of PlayStation Move and its accompanying camera in 2010, this is the eighth major hardware launch for the gaming giant.

Google and Sony both have intellectual property around waveguide designs similar in nature.
