A new FCC listing appears for an HTC Vive headset. And in fact, a new request to FCC for a new device has arrived from HTC. FCC certifications are requested before releasing an electronic device in the US (to certify that it is safe to be used), so this is a clear sign that HTC is going to release a new headset soon.

In an interview with a Chinese magazine, HTC China (Mister) President Alvin Graylin has stated that in his opinion, Facebook may lose at least $100-$200 for each sold Oculus Quest 2 device. HTC had $210 million as the total revenue for 2020. Microsoft confirms (again) it wants to build consumer HoloLens. Learn more.

And while this is anyway a good result for a startup (developing an AR headsets means spending billions in R&D), targeting the consumer market has been a suicide move , that let Microsoft get full control of the profitable enterprise market. The VR route is instead being pursued by HTC (with its VEC event happening soon) and IEEE.
